| Abstract | In this talk some considerations will be presented in association with the interplanetary and magnetospheric origin of extreme geomagnetic activity dealing, both, with magnetospheric response to intense and short-lived. IMF structures as well as to intense and longerduration IMF structures. Recent research on proposed scenarios for such magnetospheric responses In the context of solar wind-magnetophere interaction processes will be discussed. |
